About WordFlow
WordFlow is a full word processor in the mould of Microsoft Word and Google Docs — if you know either, you already know WordFlow: the same menu bar (File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools), the same toolbar, the same paginated page, and Word's own .docx as its native import and export format. Every document is a real file in the user's Fias Vault — a .wflow package they can find, move and rename in My Data like any other file, with its pictures inside it. WordFlow shows them in a list you can search and mark as favourites; deleting one sends the file to the Vault's own Trash, where it can be restored. Each one opens on a paginated page laid out like Word's — Letter, Legal, Tabloid, Executive, A3, A4, A5, B5 or any custom size in inches, portrait or landscape, with margins set in inches, header and footer distances from the page edge, and an optional page colour. A continuous 'flow' view drops the page breaks for people who would rather not see them while drafting, and a zoom control (25%-200%, or fit-to-width) scales the page without reflowing it, so the page count never disagrees with what you see.
WRITING AND FORMATTING. The usual character formatting is here — bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript, small caps, text colour and highlight colour, plus font family and size (8-96, body text is 16). Fonts come from a catalogue of roughly eighty families bundled with the arche; Google Fonts and other external font sources are blocked by the plugin sandbox, so only catalogue families are available. Paragraph styles (Normal, Title, Subtitle, Heading 1-6) work like Google Docs' styles dropdown: each one sets a font, size, weight and colour together, they can be redefined to match the current selection, and redefining one restyles every matching paragraph in the document. Paragraphs also carry alignment, indentation, line spacing, space before/after, and the pagination controls Word calls keep-with-next, keep-lines-together and page-break-before. Lists come in bulleted, numbered and checklist forms with selectable markers.
STRUCTURE. You can insert tables (sized to the writable page width, with a header row and resizable columns), images, page breaks, horizontal rules, block quotes, code blocks, footnotes (drawn at the foot of their page, as in Word) and endnotes (after the last paragraph), citations, two- or three-column sections, and a table of contents in three styles. The table of contents is a SNAPSHOT — it does not update itself when headings change later; delete it and insert it again. Headers and footers support different content on the first page and, for a document that will be bound, a different header and footer on even pages. Automatic page numbers can go in either region, aligned left, centre or right, starting from any number, optionally hidden on the first page. A text or image watermark can sit behind every page. An outline sidebar lists the document's headings and jumps to them.
IMAGES. Images can be uploaded from the computer, picked from the user's Fias Vault, added by URL, or generated by AI from a prompt. Uploaded and generated images are stored INSIDE the document, so they travel with it when it is emailed or shared; a picture can also be linked to a file in the Vault or to an external URL instead, in which case it is NOT copied and may stop displaying if the source goes away. Images can be moved, resized, rotated and wrapped, which is done by dragging them on the page.
AI FEATURES. Rewriting, expanding, simplifying, summarising, titling, outlining and continuing a draft are done by the Fias AI assistant in the platform's own AI window, not by a panel inside WordFlow: ask it in plain language and it reads the selection (or the whole document), writes the new text, and puts it back. It can also drive the app — creating and opening documents, formatting, inserting tables and page elements, find and replace, page setup and the view — and it asks before anything destructive. WordFlow keeps its own tools for the jobs that work better in place: a proofreader underlines spelling, grammar, punctuation and style problems in place, Grammarly-style, with an accept/dismiss card on each. A dictionary panel looks up the selected word and swaps in a synonym. Whole-document translation produces a SEPARATE new document rather than overwriting the original, preserving formatting, tables, images and page setup. All of these call AI models and therefore spend the signed-in user's Fias credits; nothing else in WordFlow costs credits.
CITATIONS. Citations can be inserted inline and rendered in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard or IEEE, with a bibliography generated from them. Changing the style restyles every citation in the document.
IMPORT AND EXPORT. WordFlow imports .docx and legacy .doc files, reproducing Word's page metrics so an imported document paginates the same way. It exports to .docx, HTML, Markdown and plain text; .docx keeps the most formatting (page setup, headers, footers and page numbers included) and plain text keeps none. The HTML export is a web article, not a printable page. WordFlow has no print command and no PDF export. Export downloads a file through the browser.
SAVING. Editing autosaves continuously to a local draft, and the document itself is written to the Vault when you press Save, close it, navigate away, or stop typing for a minute — the same rhythm as Word's AutoRecover. A banner appears if a save fails, for example when a document grows past the size a single file can be, with export buttons so the work can always be rescued. Documents are private to the user who owns them; there is no sharing or real-time collaboration, and no version history UI.
